Abstract: In May 1938 Adolf Hitler paid a state visit to the Italian kingdom and Fascist Empire. The Roman triumph provided a model for some aspects of this Fascist entry, and the capital was decorated with flags, banners. On his way Hitler faced different types of arches, gates and triumphal iconography. The survey of these ephemeral and ancient monuments is the background for an advanced reflection of the use of triumphal arches in Italian Fascism.
