Abstract: The text presents some characterizing elements of the monographic core of the volume dedicated to Rome and its countryside. The agri-food sector in the last thirty years, emphasizing the necessity of building a new and more intense relationship between city and countryside. In the case of Rome, perhaps more than elsewhere, agro-food is not a minor productive sector, but it is also history, culture, landscape, ultimately a heritage.
