Abstract: If in the past the township of Valle Aurelia in Rome was considered atypical for its contemporary centrality (the border with Balduina and the Prati district) and peripheral (for its typical characteristics of an agglomeration over GRA), today the peculiarity is confirmed not only by the new kind of housing development that characterizes the area that was the township but also by a succession of different phases of the presence on the territory. The gentrification process is related to the gradual closure of the furnaces which marked the beginning of the end of the brick-kiln workers community that lived in the Borghetto. An attempt to recover the previous community experience of the township is in the creation of the “Meeting Point”, a recreational facility, cultural, which occupies a large space below an elevated rail, long disused. But above all there is to be concluded that now the Valle Aurelia township no longer exists, because there isn’t a perception of shared community.
