Abstract: The text presents some characterizing elements of the monographic core of the volume dedicated to Fornaces and Territories. Valle Aurelia, Pineta Sacchetti and Monte Mario, underlining the broadly multidisciplinary approach of the project, the vast diachronic perspective and the wealth of archive sources. The result is an exemplary case study in the economic, social and urban vicissitudes of the Capital, from which to draw still elements of reflection on the issues of city government, democratic participation, protection of the cultural heritage, enhancement of the memory of contemporary Rome.
