PRESENT CHALLENGES AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES
International Conference

Following on the international conferences organized by the Faculty of Economics and the Department of Business Studies at Roma Tre University, namely Heritage and Cityscapes (October 5-6, 2012) and Sustainable Cultural Heritage Management (October 11-12, 2013), the new international meeting proposal aims to strengthen a permanent research seminar on the Cultural Heritage theme and to set up an informal academics’ and specialists’ network for fostering the debate, the sharing of projects and new methodologies, the technology innovation updates, the spreading of best practises.

The central topics of this Conference are:
A. Analysis: knowledge, research, technologies, survey mapping, modelling, applications and best practices;
B. Representations: museums, exhibitions, laboratories, project ideation and creativity;
C. Communication and participation: techniques, strategies, experiences, dissemination and user engagement;
D. Valorization: Sustainable cultural economics, promotion, ITC, innovative managerial approaches for cultural heritage valorization;
E. Fruition: projects, experiences, best practices
F. Special session: Landscapes and cityscapes

The conference could be organized in a series of 15-20 min. contributions for each of the 6 sections with a debate at the end of each panel. These contributions may refer to theoretical essays, empirical research based on quanti- and qualitative approaches, case studies, achievements and ongoing projects, research prospects and methodogical issues. Poster presentation will be welcomed as well. Academics’ and practitioners’ submissions are welcome. The languages of the Conference are Italian, English, French and Spanish.
A final round table with questions from the audience will allow to look in depth at eventual fields of interest and at the most effective methodological approaches for developing research group activities.
Participants who want to submit a paper are kindly request to send an email to culturalheritage@uniroma3.it, including an abstract (maximum 3.000 characters) and their short C.V. (maximum 1.000 characters) Abstract submission deadline: September 15, 2014; Acceptance/rejection notification: September 25, 2014; Definitive paper submission deadline (maximum 14.000 characters with annotations included): November 5, 2014.
A selection of full papers will be published (under ISBN) subject to prior blind peer review.

Registration fees*:
Early fees (registration within October 13): € 120 for senior and professional; € 60 for students and junior;
Ordinary fees: € 170 for senior and professional; € 90 for students and junior;
Accompanying persons who want to participate to conference social events are asked to register (€80)
*The registration fee includes: 2 lunches, 2 coffee breaks, 1 dinner, 1 cultural tour and conference materials.
The organization may also provide for registration/accommodation expenses or registration expenses for a limited number of PhD students and Postdoctoral participants whose contributions to the conference are accepted (please apply for it - after abstract acceptance notification and within October 3 - submitting a detailed CV).

The venue is at Roma Tre University and other cultural institutions.
